Thunderstorm Forecast, for Southern Ontario. Issued May 15th, 2019.

We are currently watching the risk for some developing showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and evening across Southern Ontario and portions of Southwestern Quebec.

ALL of Southern Ontario including portions of Northeastern Ontario such as West Nipissing and North Bay as well as portions of Southwestern Quebec such as Lac-Caugnawana, Fort-Coulonge, and Huntingdon can all expect the risk for some isolated non-severe thunderstorms.

These thunderstorms will be capable of producing some moderate to heavy downpours, gusty winds at times and possibly some small hail. Frequent lightning in the strongest storms may be possible. Some storms may briefly reach near the severe criteria but severe storms are unlikely.

There is a minor risk of funnel clouds or an isolated landspout tornado between the Britt and Barry's Bay area extending south past Bancroft towards the Woodview and Madoc areas, including portions of Algonquin Park. Please be on the lookout in that area.

Areas at the most at risk of seeing thunderstorms will extend in Central and Eastern Ontario from Algonquin Park and Huntsville south towards Bancroft, Woodview, Sharbot Lake, and Kingston. There is also a noticeable risk throughout the GTA from Barrie and Newmarket south towards Oshawa and Cobourg.
